Huntington Acquires Renaissance Sculpture Attributed to Giovan Angelo Del Maino At the annual meeting of its Art Collectors’ Council, The Huntington enriched its European art collection with the acquisition of an Italian Renaissance sculpture, St. George and the Dragon, and a French Barbizon School painting, Sunshine and Shadow, by Constant Troyon.

Hail to the Chief: The Americanization of Walter Scott During the War of 1812 MAY 23, WED, 7:30 PM The song “Hail to the Chief” had its origins in Sir Walter Scott’s poem “The Lady of the Lake” as the anthem to a Scottish highland clan leader. Boston University's Joseph Rezek describes how it became a patriotic song during the War of 1812.
